Director, Fund Administration

We are partnering with a growing financial services and investment firm in Greater Montreal seeking an experienced Director, Fund Administration to lead fund administration, accounting, reporting and operational activities across its investment platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fund administration or fund accounting professional who wants broader ownership, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of the business.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day fund administration and fund accounting activities
• Oversee NAV calculations, capital activity, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Manage and review work completed by fund accounting and administration professionals
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, subscriptions and redemptions
• Coordinate investor reporting and support investor inquiries
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
• Work with auditors, tax professionals, banks, custodians and other external service providers
• Support financial statements, audit processes and regulatory requirements
• Improve fund administration processes, controls and operational efficiency
• Partner with senior leadership on new funds, structures and strategic initiatives
• Help develop and mentor members of the fund administration team

What We’re Looking For

• CPA and 6+ years of relevant experience in fund administration, fund accounting, investment operations or asset servicing
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, NAV calculations and financial reporting
• Experience working with investment funds such as Private Equity, Private Credit, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Infrastructure or other Alternative Investments
• Previous experience leading, reviewing or mentoring other professionals
• Strong knowledge of capital calls, distributions and investor allocations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• CPA or other relevant accounting designation is an asset
• Experience with institutional fund administrators, asset managers or investment firms is highly valued
