Job Description
Position Overview: This is a regular, remote full time position based out of our UK entity, Mitro Imaging UK Limited. The Director of Business Development (VP, BD) will be a key member of XingImaging’s Commercial team, responsible for driving commercial growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and strengthening Xing’s position as a leading imaging CRO supporting drug development and translational research. Working in close collaboration with scientific and operational leadership, this role will develop and execute strategies to grow the company’s client base across pharma and biotech.
This includes identifying and developing new opportunities, establishing partnerships with organizations aligned to Xing’s strategic interests, and ensuring a robust pipeline of projects across preclinical and clinical imaging services. The Director BD will report to the Vice President, Business Development and help manage the end-to-end business development lifecycle from lead generation through contract execution—while ensuring best practices in CRM utilization, pricing, proposal generation, and client engagement. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive business development strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue streams.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with organizational objectives, leveraging industry trends and market insights. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and contract research organizations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized solutions and proposals that address client needs and differentiate Xing’s offerings.
Monitor competitor activities, market dynamics, and regulatory trends to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic clients. Build long-term strategic partnerships with organizations central to Xing’s mission, including CROs, pharma sponsors, and technology providers. Represent Xing Imaging at industry conferences, webinars, and networking events to promote expertise in molecular and functional imaging.
Qualifications / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or equivalent) preferred. 10+ years of experience in business development or commercial role, ideally within imaging CROs, life sciences services, or pharmaceutical industry. Proven track record of building and managing client relationships in the pharma/biotech sector. Demonstrated success in developing business strategies and closing multimillion-dollar service agreements.
Strong understanding of imaging-based biomarkers, PET/MR/CT modalities, and the role of imaging in clinical development. Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent), with a strong focus on process optimization and data integrity. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
