On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Digital Product Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract (potential extension) based hybrid (1 day) a week in Bristol.

Role Profile:

This role will play a key part in delivering externally facing digital services that support funding and research activities across the UK higher education sector.

Working within a multidisciplinary Scrum delivery team, you will manage and prioritise product backlogs, champion user-centred design practices, and work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery against challenging deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Manager with strong public sector digital experience who thrives in complex environments and enjoys mentoring others while driving tangible outcomes.

As a Digital Product Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:

. Manage and maintain a prioritised product backlog aligned to strategic business objectives and product roadmaps. . Work closely with Product Owners to define priorities and ensure delivery teams focus on the highest-value outcomes. . Support multiple agile teams in delivering high-quality digital services. . Gather, analyse and apply user insights to shape product direction and prioritisation decisions. . Champion user-centred design principles and ensure user needs remain at the heart of delivery. . Use data and performance metrics to measure product outcomes and drive continuous improvement. . Identify, manage and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies and blockers. . Collaborate with architecture, policy, operations and technical teams to coordinate cross-functional delivery. . Develop business cases and articulate value-for-money propositions to support product decisions. . Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external organisations. . Mentor and coach junior product professionals and help develop product management capability within the team. . Contribute to agile delivery practices, fostering continuous improvement and effective ways of working.

Essential:

. Significant experience as a Product Manager delivering digital products and services. . Proven experience delivering externally facing digital services to large user groups. . Strong background in digital product management within agile environments. . Demonstrable experience working alongside user-centred design teams to solve business problems. . Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders. . Previous experience working within UK Government or public sector organisations.

Desirable:

. Experience supporting or participating in GDS service assessments. . Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Salesforce or Low-Code platforms.
