Development Underwriter

A leading specialist insurer is looking for a Senior Commercial Underwriter to drive profitable growth across its strategic sectors. You'll join an established, high-performing team with autonomy to drive your own relationships and pipeline. This isn't just about underwriting; you'll influence appetite, strategy, and pricing across strategic sectors while building strong broker relationships and winning new business.

What You'll Be Doing: Underwrite larger, more complex commercial cases consistently and profitably across all lines (PI, MLP, Cyber, Property, Casualty) with primary focus on Professional Indemnity Lead the setting and execution of local underwriting strategy and influence UK Product Heads on appetite, proposition, and pricing Lead underwriting and trading visits to larger clients and prospects, ensuring new business targets are achieved Develop close, effective broker relationships to identify new opportunities and increase submission/conversion numbers What We're Looking For: Strong track record trading with brokers to deliver growth and make sound underwriting decisions that drive top and bottom-line performance Deep understanding of Professional Indemnity line of business, including policy wordings, pricing, claims, and market dynamics Strong communication, relationship management, and influencing skills with ACII qualification or FCA-defined exempt experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
