Development and Fundraising Manager

The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition (VDISC) is seeking to recruit a Development and Fundraising Manager on a part-time, fixed-term contract basis.

The role will play a proactive part in shaping, implementing and delivering VDISC's development and fundraising strategy, with the aim of growing and diversifying income streams to support the organisation's growth and development plans. The ideal candidate would be based in Ireland and be a graduate with experience in the areas of key responsibility, with a proven track record of successful fundraising, particularly in music and the arts.

Skills and Competencies

• Creativity and flair to devise effective fundraising strategies that respond to VDISC's growth and strategy plans.
• A strong grasp of, and curiosity about, business, finance, corporate contexts and philanthropy.
• Articulate and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to design, manage, deliver and evaluate projects from inception to completion, in collaboration with the VDISC Chair, AD and Board.
• Proven relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
• Ability and skills to contribute to the development and implementation of marketing communications plans for VDISC.
• Demonstrated experience producing written material to a high standard, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work proactively and on own initiative.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Digital fluency and a strong understanding of communication platforms and social media.

About the Competition

The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition is a triennial international classical singing competition held in Dublin, Ireland. The competition invites the most talented young singers to compete on this global stage, with a star-studded Jury, international press coverage and exposure to the most influential people in the industry.

An established Irish musical event of international standing, we are committed to discovering the future's best classical singers, and continue to encourage the development of Irish and international vocal talent. In 2011, the Competition became a member of the Federation of World Competitions.

Inaugurated in 1995, the Competition was created to honour the life's work of Dr. Veronica Dunne, Ireland's Grande Dame of singing. Ireland is known throughout the world as a land of song, and in the classical and operatic field, this is in no small measure due to the unique and dedicated teaching of Dr. Dunne.

The Competition is organised by the Friends of the Vocal Arts, a non-for-profit charitable body, with Artistic Director Dearbhla Collins and Chairman Diarmuid Hegarty.
