Job Description
Ulster Carpets is a long-established, family-owned Northern Ireland manufacturer with a proud heritage dating back to 1938. From our base in Portadown, we manufacture high-quality woven carpets for prestigious customers across the UK and international markets.
DESIGN TECHNICIAN
We are seeking a technically minded and creative Design Technician to join our Design Studio in Portadown.
The successful candidate will have experience in design software and the ability to work on projects from a technical perspective, while maintaining a strong understanding of creative design. The role will involve close collaboration with the Design Studio and other departments across the business.
Essential Criteria
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in design software
- A project-focused approach and the ability to liaise effectively with other departments.
- The ability to demonstrate creativity.
- The ability to understand and apply technical concepts and techniques.
- Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
Desirable Criteria
- A third-level design qualification or related discipline.
- A technical understanding of aspects of interior or textile design.
- Previous experience within a design, technical or manufacturing environment.
