Job Description
Senior Design Manager – Capital River Health Enhancement We look for an experienced engineering design leader to head an integrated team of designers and deliver waste water infrastructure projects as part of Severn Trent’s Capital Investment Programme. The role is based in Edgbaston and supports the AMP8 programme, driving design, procurement and construction to time and budget, while enabling continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead and manage design activities for multiple waste water infrastructure projects.
Provide robust leadership to the design team, coaching and developing team members. Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects within time and budget. Act as Principal Designer representative, responsible for discharging Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM regulations.
Identify opportunities for innovation, challenge assumptions, and drive performance improvements. Make educated judgments and decisions in ambiguous situations, while maintaining a broader project perspective. Qualifications & Experience Degree qualified (desirable) in a related discipline.
Extensive experience leading design projects within waste/water networks and treatment. Experience of carrying out Principal Designer representative roles with CDM awareness. Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of building relationships with diverse parties.
