We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team to support our expanding portfolio of work. As a Temporary Works Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing safe, robust, and cost-effective designs for temporary works required during construction processes. You will collaborate with site teams, contractors, and design professionals to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable standards and regulations.
Design temporary works schemes including falsework, formwork, scaffolding, shoring, propping, hoardings, and crane platforms. Prepare detailed calculations, technical drawings, and comprehensive design risk assessments. Collaborate within the design team, seeking supervision when necessary and providing leadership to junior team members as required.
Deliver design outputs that fully adhere to company procedures and quality standards. Communicate complex technical design issues effectively with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders. Interpret briefing information accurately, apply relevant design codes and standards, and utilize appropriate design software efficiently.
Lead site inspections and surveys, actively participating in technical correspondence and meetings with third parties. Ensure designs and work practices meet the commercial and project-specific requirements. Provide engineering support during construction planning and delivery phases.
Conduct site visits to assess design needs or verify installation integrity. Contribute to the continuous improvement of temporary works procedures, systems, and best practices.
