Role Purpose
The Dean โ School of Management shall provide academic, administrative, and strategic leadership for the School of Management. The role is responsible for driving academic excellence, enhancing student outcomes, strengthening industry engagement, promoting research and innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and positioning the School among leading business education institutions nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership & Excellence
Provide strategic direction for all academic programs offered by the School.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, curriculum design, and academic delivery.
Lead periodic curriculum review and modernization aligned with industry requirements and emerging business trends.
Promote outcome-based education and experiential learning practices.
2. Faculty Leadership & Development
Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality faculty members.
Drive faculty development initiatives in teaching, research, consulting, and industry engagement.
Establish performance expectations and monitor faculty productivity and effectiveness.
Promote a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
3. Student Success & Employability
Monitor student academic performance, progression, and retention.
Strengthen student mentoring, career development, internships, and placement readiness initiatives.
Enhance student participation in competitions, projects, certifications, and experiential learning opportunities.
Promote leadership development and holistic student growth.
4. Industry Engagement & Corporate Relations
Build strong partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and corporate organizations.
Facilitate industry projects, internships, guest lectures, consulting assignments, and executive education programs.
Ensure curriculum relevance through regular industry interactions and advisory board engagements.
Promote corporate collaborations that enhance student employability and institutional reputation.
5. Research, Consulting & Innovation
Promote research excellence among faculty and students.
Encourage publications in reputed journals, case writing, consultancy assignments, and funded projects.
Support interdisciplinary research and innovation initiatives relevant to management education.
Facilitate collaboration with the Dean โ Research on institutional research priorities.
6. Accreditation, Rankings & Quality Assurance
Drive initiatives related to accreditation, rankings, and quality assurance frameworks.
Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NIRF, NBA, and other applicable standards.
Monitor academic quality indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead preparation and submission of reports required for accreditation and ranking exercises.
7. Admissions & Program Growth
Support student recruitment, admissions planning, and program expansion initiatives.
Identify opportunities for launching new academic programs, specializations, and executive education offerings.
Develop strategies to improve student quality, diversity, and enrollment outcomes.
8. Budgeting & Resource Management
Manage the School's budget, infrastructure, laboratories, learning resources, and academic facilities.
Ensure optimal utilization of faculty, financial resources, and institutional assets.
Drive operational efficiency while maintaining academic quality standards.
9. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with University leadership, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, students, alumni, recruiters, and industry partners.
Build strong relationships with accreditation agencies, professional associations, and external stakeholders.
Represent the School in academic, industry, and professional forums.
10. Strategic Planning & Institutional Development
Develop and execute the School's strategic plan aligned with the University's vision and growth objectives.
Drive initiatives that enhance academic reputation, student outcomes, research productivity, and industry recognition.
Contribute to institutional planning, policy development, and long-term growth initiatives.
Qualification & Experience
- Ph.D. in Management or a related discipline from a recognized University.
- Minimum 15โ20 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and leadership roles within higher education.
- Proven record of academic leadership, faculty development, industry engagement, research contributions, and institutional growth.
- Strong understanding of higher education regulations, accreditation frameworks, and management education trends.
