Database Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Phoenix, AZ. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity. This role is critical to the strategic expansion and operational excellence of database platforms, particularly MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB. The ideal candidate will lead and participate in designing highly complex database solutions, focusing on the automation of operational tasks to improve recovery time and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Responsibilities Lead and participate in database management activities including designing highly complex MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB databases Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server-class databases Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing Design and certify next-generation database technologies Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high-impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction Provide technical leadership and recommendations into the future direction of database technology Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Streamline repeatable build and operational support practices that scale with technology changes Develop database high availability and replication solutions to meet the requirements of high-tier applications Drive adoption of standard operational practices to deliver highly available solutions Participate in an on-call DBA rotation Requirements 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education 5+ years of Database Operations experience with MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB Desired skills Ability to see the big picture and influence future direction Experience with automation to streamline repeatable build and operational support practices Strong customer service focus Ability to take a lead role in projects that have a broad impact Pay range $54.00 - $61.00 per Hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
