We are looking for a Data Platform Operations Engineer, who wants to learn and transform his career.

In this role you will

• Provision, configure, administer, and optimize Amazon EMR clusters.
• Manage and support Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, and HBase.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity across the big data environment.
• Troubleshoot cluster, application, and infrastructure issues in production environments.
• Administer and support data ingestion and processing services such as AWS Glue, Kafka, and Kinesis.
• Implement and maintain security controls using IAM, Kerberos, KMS, VPCs, and related AWS services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Build and maintain operational automation, monitoring, and alerting processes.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cloud costs.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to support business-critical data platforms.
• Provide production support, incident management, and on-call assistance when required.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience administering AWS EMR clusters and the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Experience with Hadoop technologies including HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, and HBase.
• Strong Linux administration skills and scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, and KMS.
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing large-scale data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of security, access management, and compliance best practices in AWS environments.
• Experience supporting production environments and performing root-cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of cluster performance tuning, scaling, and operational support.

Desirable Skills

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or Big Data Specialty.
• Experience with EMR Serverless.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience supporting Kafka, Kinesis, and AWS Glue environments.
• Experience implementing cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Exposure to Scala and PySpark from a platform administration perspective.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud and big data environments.
