Data Engineer

Hiring: Data Engineer Location: Toronto, ON Hybrid: 1 day onsite per week Contract: May 2026 – May 2027 Rate: $80–90/hr We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a growing AI and analytics team focused on building scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, and AI-driven analytics within a Databricks environment. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, and Python experience. Candidates with AI exposure, PowerBI, Plotly, or cloud analytics experience will be highly valued.

Junior resources with strong Python fundamentals and an interest in data engineering are also encouraged to apply. What You’ll Be Working On: • Building and managing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes • Supporting analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives using Databricks • Developing data solutions and integrating enterprise datasets • Designing and maintaining reporting dashboards in PowerBI or Plotly • Supporting AI-enabled business intelligence and semantic layer initiatives • Working closely with stakeholders on solution design and delivery • Assisting with CI/CD, testing, deployment, and release activities Required Skills: • 2+ years of experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other data warehouse technologies • Strong Python development experience • SQL and database management experience • Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL workflows Nice to Have: • PowerBI, Plotly, or reporting/dashboard experience • AI-based analytics or Databricks Genie exposure • CI/CD and DevOps knowledge • REST APIs / WebAPI integration experience • Azure Cloud Services • Banking or Capital Markets experience • Medallion Data Model knowledge • Messaging technologies such as Solace or MQ This is a great opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment focused on modern data engineering and AI-driven analytics initiatives.
