Reporting to Senior Data Engineer, the Data Analyst is responsible for developing automation solutions and supporting data engineering best practices of our Health Analytics department. What will you do?
Transform ad-hoc data requests to automated, self-serve solutions. Reverse engineer legacy reports, collaborate with business to improve them and automate by data pipelines in the cloud. Support data engineering best practices.
Identify and participate in initiatives for process automation and optimization. Develop innovative solutions for business challenges using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Own, create, and maintain documentation to support knowledge sharing and ensure appropriate backup coverage.
What do you need to succeed? Technical skills: Strong proficiency in SQL including complex joins, window functions; experience with Python for tooling and workflow development; practical experience with AWS (lambda functions, glue jobs, step functions, CloudWatch, etc.) or equivalent cloud platforms; solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL patterns; proficiency with Git and version control workflows. Detail-oriented: able to follow process notes, carefully preserve data integrity and ensure quality output with minimal to no errors/issues.
Communication skills: excellent collaboration with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document processes. Takes initiative: resourceful at problem solving and continually improving job processes and procedures; ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Adaptability: ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
What will be nice to have: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Spark data frames, Spark SQL, PySpark. Exposure to BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI).
