Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset. Reports to: Program Manager PURPOSE The Data Analyst is an 8-week term position supporting Ottawa Salus through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this role supports the organizationâs transition to the Provincial Data Set (PDS) and contributes to strengthening data collection, integrity, analysis, and reporting across multiple systems. Working closely with the Quality Improvement to Quality Assurance (QI2QA) Committee, the Data Analyst will gain handsâon experience with realâworld data systems in the supportive housing and mental health sector while contributing to meaningful, dataâinformed decisionâmaking. RESPONSIBILITIES The Data Analyst will support a range of dataârelated initiatives, including but not limited to: Review current data structures and reporting practices to support transition to the Provincial Data Set Assess data integrity and identify inconsistencies, missing information, and opportunities for standardization Support mapping of existing data fields to Provincial Data Set requirements Quality Improvement and Reporting Participate as a member of the QI2QA Committee to support its workplan Assist in developing dashboards and visual tools to support data analysis and service improvement Review organizational data to identify trends, patterns, and followâup needs Data Cleaning and Integrity Support the development of consistent dataâentry guidelines and documentation Prepare user guides and training resources to improve data accuracy Conduct data quality checks, including identifying duplicates, incomplete entries, and inaccuracies General Duties Complete other related tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Must meet eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program and Ottawa Salus preâemployment requirements Currently a postâsecondary student or recent graduate in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Public Health, Business/Policy Analytics, a quantitative social science discipline, or a related field KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience with data analysis tools within the Microsoft suite (e.g., Power BI) is an asset Comfort working with databases or case management systems (e.g., EMHware, Arcori) is an asset Strong analytical and criticalâthinking skills Ability to translate raw data into clear, actionable insights Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to learn new software quickly Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively CORE COMPETENCIES Analytical thinking Problemâsolving Organization and time management Communication and teamwork Initiative and adaptability Why Work at Ottawa Salus?
