PAM Analyst (Cost & Inflation Modelling) Location: UK (Hybrid) Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + benefits The Role We’re supporting a major energy infrastructure programme seeking a PAM Analyst to support the modelling and reporting of inflation-driven contract adjustments. This role sits within the project controls and cost management function and focuses on how inflation indices (e.g. RPI, CPI, BCIS) impact contract values and cost forecasts.
You’ll work closely with commercial, cost, and project teams to ensure that inflation impacts are accurately calculated, clearly reported, and fully auditable. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the calculation of inflation-linked contract adjustments (PAM) across multiple work packages Applying indices such as RPI, CPI, and BCIS to contract values using structured Excel models Maintaining and improving Excel workbooks with clear audit trails and version control Monitoring index movements and assessing their impact on project cost forecasts Supporting EAC/ETC forecasting by incorporating inflation assumptions Producing monthly reports and dashboards to communicate cost and inflation impacts Ensuring outputs reconcile to contract registers and cost plans What We’re Looking For Essential Strong Excel skills (comfortable building structured models, not just using spreadsheets) Experience working with data sets over time (e.g. financial, cost, or operational data) Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail Ability to explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders Desirable (but not essential) Exposure to cost reporting, forecasting, or project controls Awareness of inflation indices such as RPI, CPI, or BCIS Experience with Power BI or similar tools Background in infrastructure, construction, engineering, or utilities What This Role Offers Opportunity to develop into a specialist in inflation modelling and cost analytics Exposure to a major infrastructure programme and complex commercial environment A mix of technical modelling, analysis, and stakeholder engagement Clear progression into cost, commercial, or project controls roles Who This Role Suits This role is ideal for someone who: Enjoys working with structured data and building reliable models Wants to move beyond reporting into real cost and commercial impact Is detail-oriented and takes pride in getting numbers right Is looking to grow into a specialist analytical role within infrastructure or energy Important This role is less about building dashboards and more about understanding, calculating, and explaining how cost changes over time .
