Senior Transport Data & Modelling Analyst Our client is looking for a Senior Analyst to join their Appraisal, Modelling and Economics team. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in developing the evidence, models and analytical tools that shape transport investment, decarbonisation and infrastructure decisions across the North of England. The Role You will lead the development and application of analytical models, datasets and decision-support tools that help evaluate the impact of transport policies and infrastructure investment. Working across a range of strategic programmes, you will combine technical expertise with commercial and policy awareness to provide robust evidence that informs decision-makers at regional and national level. Responsibilities will include: Leading the development of analytical models, tools and methodologies Managing complex datasets and transforming them into meaningful insights Producing high-quality technical outputs and recommendations Supporting transport appraisal, economic analysis and business case development Working closely with stakeholders across local authorities, government bodies and delivery partners Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior analysts Identifying opportunities to improve analytical approaches, automation and modelling capability This is a rare opportunity to contribute to nationally significant projects that influence transport investment, economic growth and the transition to a low-carbon future. Requirements We are looking for someone with a strong analytical background and experience delivering complex modelling or data-driven projects.

You will bring: Significant experience developing analytical models, datasets or decision-support tools Strong capability in Python, R, SQL or similar analytical technologies Experience translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for stakeholders Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills Experience working with large or complex datasets Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Desirable experience includes: Transport modelling, transport planning or appraisal Economic analysis or business case development GIS and spatial analysis Carbon modelling, environmental analysis or sustainability-related projects Experience mentoring or supporting junior analysts Benefits Salary between ยฃ52,000 and ยฃ60,000 (depending on experience) 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays Local Government Pension Scheme Flexi Time Scheme allowing accrual of up to 18 additional days leave per year Salary sacrifice benefits including travel schemes Hybrid working arrangements Professional development and training opportunities Why Apply?
