Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with IESO Nova Scotia on their search for a Cybersecurity Manager to join their team. IESO Nova Scotia is a new Crown corporation established by the Nova Scotia Government that began operations in 2025. The organization is responsible for managing the province's power system in real-time, advancing clean energy goals, and planning for Nova Scotia's future energy needs.

Position Scope: Reporting to the Director of Technology & Cybersecurity, the Cybersecurity Manager will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and continual improvement of a comprehensive cybersecurity program across IESO's IT and OT environments. This role plays a critical part in protecting the organization's infrastructure, systems, and data while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices within the energy sector.

Responsibilities: Develop and evolve a cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures Monitor alignment with NIST CSF 2.0 and ensure compliance with NERC CIP, ISO 27001, and other applicable regulations Provide security architecture guidance for cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and OT environments (SCADA, telemetry, industrial firewalls) Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across IT and OT systems, and implement risk mitigation strategies Lead the development and execution of incident response plans, and coordinate investigations and corrective action Manage cybersecurity managed service providers and specialized vendors Build a culture of cybersecurity awareness across the organization Position Requirements: Postโ€‘secondary education in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks including NIST and ISO 27001, as well as network, OT, and cloud security Active CISSP, CISM, or equivalent professional certification Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Proven ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization, including external vendors and stakeholders Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex security concepts for diverse audiences Strategic mindset with a collaborative and persuasive leadership style Assets: Experience with NERC-CIP compliance Prior experience in critical infrastructure or the energy sector What IESO Nova Scotia Offers: Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package and paid time off Flexibility to work remotely one day per week Collaborative, energetic team culture The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Nova Scotia's energy future #J-18808-Ljbffr
