Credit + Risk Mangager

Are you an experienced credit risk professional looking for a role where you can influence lending strategy, portfolio performance, and business growth?

We're partnering with an innovative consumer lending business seeking a Credit & Risk Manager to lead the credit function across the full lending lifecycle. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to shape credit strategy, strengthen portfolio performance, and work closely with senior leaders to support sustainable business growth.

What you'll be doing:-

• Driving the ongoing development of credit policy, underwriting standards, and lending strategy.
• Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying emerging risks, trends, and opportunities through data-driven analysis.
• Leading the day-to-day credit assessment function, providing guidance on complex applications and maintaining high underwriting standards.
• Reviewing and enhancing credit decisioning, scorecards, affordability models, and approval frameworks.
• Working closely with collections, fraud, customer operations, and compliance teams to optimise customer and portfolio outcomes.
• Supporting the development of new lending products while ensuring they align with the organisation's risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
• Preparing portfolio reporting and providing meaningful insights to support business decisions.
• Partnering with Product, Sales, Operations, and Compliance to strengthen governance, improve processes, and embed a strong risk culture.

What you'll bring:-

• 5-7 years' experience in consumer lending, credit risk, underwriting, or portfolio management.
• Experience within consumer lending, retail finance, fintech, or a non-bank lending environment.
• Strong understanding of responsible lending obligations, credit risk principles, and the Australian regulatory landscape.
• Experience managing or analysing lending portfolios and making data-driven recommendations.
• The ability to balance commercial outcomes with prudent risk management and excellent customer experiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence decisions across the business.
• You must have PR or Citizenship for Australia.
