Position Summary The Contracts Manager will assist the Director in facilitating day-to-day management of the Department in accordance with Company Procedures. The incumbent will supervise Department Staff, ensuring all aspects of the business cycle relating to proposals, contracts, administration, invoicing and warranty claims are efficiently handled in compliance with work instructions and procedures.
The role is responsible for all administrative functions of the Department. Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 Essential Responsibilities Supervise, monitor and assist Contracts staff in the performance of their duties. Organise the contract staff to receive, review, and respond to customer enquiries, including familiarity with frequently changing Canadian and U.S.
Government regulations. Coordinate, review and approve formal proposals and pricing with engineering, estimating, program management, marketing and the leadership team. After proposal submission and contract award, ensure effective contract administration and monitoring.
Negotiate (actual and assistance) of contracts (terms and conditions, price, delivery, etc.) for domestic and export customers. Coordinate and negotiate financial papers associated with contracts (e.g., letters of credit, performance bonds, banker's guarantee). Perform other duties that may carry commercial responsibilities such as committees and infrastructure.
Contribute to overall divisional profitability by ensuring that proposals meet financial requirements and the agreed terms and conditions adequately protect the company in all eventualities. Position Requirements Bachelor of Commerce Degree or Business Vocational School Diploma. 5-8 years of business or management experience; contract administration experience is an asset. Understanding of commercial law as it relates to terms and conditions.
Expertise in contract management and administration of terms and conditions, commercial and financial acumen, negotiations, communication and documentation, leadership and delegation, public speaking and presentation. Skills: contract management, commercial and financial skills, computer skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, negotiation and relationship abilities, organisational and execution abilities, timely escalation of issues.
