This is the jobAs part of our Contractor Network team, youll play an important role in making sure AA members and our Police scheme customers receive a reliable, high-quality service when they need us most. Youll manage and support a network of garages across your geographical area, building strong relationships and driving consistently high standards.
Through regular performance management, quality inspections and proactive engagement, youll help our garage network deliver the right outcomes for both customers and the business. Youll identify opportunities to improve performance, address areas of concern and make sure our partners remain focused on providing an efficient, dependable and customer-focused service.
What will I be doing?- Managing relationships with AA-appointed Emergency Breakdown Services, Police Schemes and our wider contractor network to drive high-quality service and performance.
- Driving contractor performance against agreed KPIs, contractual standards and customer expectations through regular reviews and performance visits.
- Using data and operational insight to identify trends, address performance gaps and improve service, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborating with Roadside teams to understand regional resource requirements, operational challenges and opportunities to strengthen network coverage.
- Conducting quality inspections of external suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Carrying out regular light and heavy vehicle inspections across Police recovery fleets in line with contractual requirements.
- Overseeing Auto Salvage sites across the UK, ensuring vehicles are managed and disposed of appropriately on behalf of the AA and our members.
- Investigating complaints and claims, identifying appropriate remedial action and ensuring issues are resolved in line with policies and guidelines.
- Delivering training, development and supplier forums to share best practice and promote continuous improvement across the contractor network.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring contractor compliance with FCA, DVSA and wider UK standards.
- Strong experience in contractor, supplier, network or operational performance management, with the ability to build effective relationships and drive results.
- Good knowledge of motor vehicle technology, roadside operations, vehicle recovery or a related automotive environment.
- Sound understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, with the ability to identify risks and ensure appropriate standards are maintained.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets, cost management and the financial impact of operational and supplier performance.
- Analytical capability with the confidence to interpret business data, identify trends and use insight to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, challenge and build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong customer focus with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, service and positive customer outcomes.
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate issues, manage remedial actions and reach effective resolutions.
- Good IT capability, particularly across Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a geographical portfolio, prioritise competing demands and work effectively with a high level of autonomy.
