Consultant Endocrinologist / Internal Medicine Physician

Position: Consultant Physician – Endocrinology and Internal Medicine

Start Date: Flexible / as soon as possible Healthy Heart Institute is expanding its multi-disciplinary internal medicine team and seeks a Consultant Endocrinologist to deliver comprehensive endocrine and internal medicine services in Red Deer.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders, including advanced type 1 & 2 diabetes (insulin pumps, CGM), thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and pituitary conditions. * Provide holistic care for complex, multi-morbid patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. * Collaborate with nursing, dietetic, podiatry, and primary care teams to streamline care pathways. * Lead guideline development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. * Teach and supervise medical students and residents.

Qualifications Required:

* MBBS (or equivalent) + dual certification in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine (CCT/CCST or equivalent). * MRCP (UK) and extensive consultant-level experience in endocrinology (minimum 10 years). * Proven track record in diabetes technology, hyponatremia management, and audit of clinical pathways. * Eligible for independent licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Compensation: Competitive fee-for-service remuneration in accordance with Alberta Health billing schedules. Estimated $250,000-$450,000 plus/annum.
