Construction Manager – OSP Fiber We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day execution of outside plant (OSP) fiber construction operations within an assigned geographic market. This role is responsible for managing construction crews and contractors, tracking project production and costs, and coordinating closely with engineering and permitting teams to ensure quality standards and project timelines are met across residential, commercial, MDU, and expansion‑related fiber builds. This is a local, field‑present management role and includes a company‑provided, home‑garaged vehicle .
Key Responsibilities Lead daily OSP fiber construction activities, including residential FTTH, commercial/SMB, MDU inside wiring, joint trench, and expansion projects Assign work to crews and subcontractors to meet project schedules and completion targets Maintain accurate project tracking, including milestones, production metrics, costs, and budgets Ensure construction quality, safety compliance, budget adherence, and on‑time delivery Provide regular status reporting to leadership and cross‑functional teams Train, mentor, and oversee junior construction managers and field personnel Collaborate with engineering, permitting, and internal stakeholders to refine construction processes and standards Monitor contractor and crew performance and implement corrective actions when necessary Review and validate field reports for accuracy and completeness Manage project estimates, schedules, and cost reporting Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecom or fiber OSP construction management Strong working knowledge of FTTH construction methods (aerial, buried, and underground) Proven ability to manage construction crews and subcontractors Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and production tracking Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Earth (KMZ/KML files) Familiarity with GIS, CADD, or mapping/drafting tools preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted)
