Construction Certified Payroll Specialist

They thrive in a fast paced and a team oriented environment.

They get excited about construction projects as well as completing assignments on time. An individual who will do well in this position is self oriented, organized, a great communicator, and approachable. Comfortable working within a team environment at the project site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS Collecting and recording weekly certified payroll reports from home office for employees and from subcontractors working on heavy/civil construction projects. Reviewing and approving subcontractor documents including certified payroll, apprentice records, monthly employment utilization reports and union benefit reports. Periodic audits, and a final audit of all CPR and labor compliance documents when subcontractor reports final CPR.

Responsible for onboarding new subcontractors and ensuring they understand the steps to complete their certified payroll submittals which include numerous one-time documents that are required. This includes emails and phone calls with subcontractors with varying levels of computer skills. Running monthly reports and submitting to management for tracking of labor hours on the project.

Notifying management when a subcontractor is significantly behind in reporting. If required, uploading JV certified payroll to DIR website and tracking the subcontractors that have also met this state requirement.
