Compliance Surveillance Analyst (Contract) Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 from home) £124 – £170 per day (base pay) 12-month contract BYOD (Bring Your Own Laptop required) About the Role We are seeking a Compliance Surveillance Analyst to join a risk management team for a leading investment bank based in Belfast. This role plays a key part in monitoring and identifying potential market abuse, misconduct, or breaches of regulatory requirements across a global financial services environment. You will support the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of surveillance controls, working closely with stakeholders across compliance, legal, audit, and front-office teams.
Key Responsibilities Review and analyse surveillance alerts relating to trading activity (firm, employee, and client) Document findings clearly and escalate suspicious or anomalous activity where appropriate Assist in gathering and analysing trade data for responses to regulatory and exchange inquiries Support compliance teams in identifying trends, risks, and potential control gaps Communicate surveillance findings effectively to internal stakeholders and senior management Collaborate with Legal, Internal Audit, and Compliance teams on investigations and reviews Respond to internal requests and assist with assurance activities Support hotline handling and data entry tasks where required Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, internal policies, and ethical practices What We’re Looking For Previous experience in compliance, surveillance, financial services, or a related field preferred Basic understanding of compliance regulations, risks, and surveillance typologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree (preferred), or Relevant experience within financial services, regulatory bodies, or legal/consulting environments Advanced qualifications are a plus If you're looking to build or deepen your career in compliance surveillance within a dynamic financial environment, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global setting.
