Compliance Analyst
McFall Recruitment Limited
Job Description
We’re looking for a Compliance Analyst to join the Risk & Compliance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical work, interpreting regulation, and supporting a business to operate safely, ethically and in line with FCA expectations. You’ll work across the second line of defence, providing coordination and delivery support across compliance advisory, regulatory change, monitoring, data protection, due diligence and governance activities.
In this role, you’ll support the Compliance Manager (Advisory) with day‑to‑day regulatory queries, research and interpretation of FCA requirements, horizon scanning and maintaining advisory logs. You’ll also play a key part in our regulatory change framework by tracking developments, coordinating impact assessments and helping to update policies, procedures and internal documentation as regulations evolve. You’ll contribute to the delivery of our Compliance Monitoring Programme, assisting with reviews across areas such as CASS, AML, sanctions, regulatory reporting and data compliance.
This includes reviewing alerts, preparing working papers, testing samples, tracking management actions and producing management information. Alongside this, you’ll support the Data Protection Officer with DPIAs, incident logs, internal queries and monitoring adherence to UK GDPR standards. The role also involves supporting client, supplier and third‑party due diligence, gathering information for RFPs and onboarding, and ensuring responses are accurate and aligned with approved regulatory positions.
You’ll assist with the FCA regulatory reporting calendar, help prepare papers and dashboards for governance committees, and coordinate evidence for internal and external audits. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll also contribute to ad‑hoc compliance queries, employee training and wider Risk & Compliance initiatives. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a foundational understanding of UK financial services regulation, strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Clear written communication and confidence working with data and documentation are essential. It’s an advantage if you have experience in compliance, risk or regulatory roles, exposure to monitoring or due diligence, an understanding of UK GDPR, or experience within asset servicing or investment administration. CISI or equivalent qualifications (or working towards them) are also beneficial.
The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow as long as you can commute easily as the business requires you to be in the office 2-3 days a week.
