POSITION SUMMARY A dual-role position that is equally split between lending responsibilities and community impact work. Originates and services consumer, real estate, and business loans, and leads financial wellness checkups, presentations, and relationship-building efforts with churches, nonprofits, community groups, and local businesses. Ensures members receive high-quality financial services while advancing Everence's mission of holistic financial wellness in the Philadelphia region.
Additional responsibilities include cultivating new member relationships and supporting operations at the Philadelphia branch. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Regional Community Development Collaborate with the Member Relations Manager and the credit union management team to develop strategies to attract new members and outline actionable implementation steps. Partner with local community organizations to design and implement measurable community development initiatives.
Engage prospective members by presenting financial wellness education and information about Everence products and services. Serve as the primary liaison to existing regional member businesses. Maintain a visible presence in the community by participating in business, church, charitable, and civic activities.
Promote Everence products and services through effective cross-selling. Attend networking events and pursue sponsorship opportunities as needed. Member Loan and Deposit Services Assist members with loan, deposit, and transactional applications in person, by phone, or electronically, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Interview members and gather required information for consumer and business loan and deposit applications; manage loans of varying complexity, value, and risk. Educate and engage business members about available Treasury Management Services. Coordinate and process loan closings, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and submitted on time.
Support loan servicing activities, including payoffs, refinances, workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and due date adjustments. Ensure that all business service operations comply with credit union policies and legal requirements and that all project and account requests are properly documented. Provide the credit union management team with insights into potential new products and industry trends.
Participate in the Business Lending Committee as needed, providing recommendations on lending decisions and community development opportunities. Member Relationship Management Lead efforts to engage emerging markets through financial wellness education seminars (e.g., lending, credit scoring, homeownership, and budgeting). Ensure member inquiries and requests are resolved promptly and courteously.
Educate members on credit union loan policies and available Everence services. Uphold and project Everence's professional reputation and service standards. Create value-added experiences for members and prospective members.
Internal Coordination and Communication As part of the Philadelphia Everence team, participate in team meetings, planning, and visioning as needed. Collaborate with other loan officers, the loan servicing team, and underwriters to resolve member issues. Complete reports and records accurately and on time.
Keep the credit union management team informed about Philadelphia-area activities, trends, and significant concerns. Provide support to the Philadelphia branch, serving as backup to the Member Relations Manager and opening and staffing the branch independently as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Education: College degree preferred Experience: 1-2+ years of consumer and/or business lending experience Cross-cultural experience preferred Skills and Abilities: Understanding of banking operations and lending functions Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Excellent communication and public relations abilities Thorough understanding of lending and deposit programs, policies, procedures, and related legal requirements Established network within the Philadelphia market Strong prospecting, sales, and referral skills Detail-oriented and well organized Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to maintain efficient workflow Spanish-speaking ability required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None SCHEDULE: Full-time
