Job Description

The successful candidate will be involved in the commissioning, testing, energisation and handover of electrical and mechanical systems associated with a large rotating plant and grid connection project. This role would suit someone with strong experience across power generation, substations, grid infrastructure, synchronous condensers, generators, turbines, or similar high-voltage energy projects. Key Responsibilities β€’ Support the commissioning and testing of synchronous condenser equipment and associated systems. β€’ Carry out pre-commissioning, functional testing, system checks and energisation activities. β€’ Work closely with site management, engineering, construction and client teams to ensure safe and efficient commissioning delivery. β€’ Review commissioning procedures, test packs, permits, method statements and technical documentation. β€’ Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning and start-up activities. β€’ Ensure all commissioning works are completed in line with project specifications, safety standards and quality requirements. β€’ Assist with punch list management, system walkdowns and handover documentation. β€’ Support mechanical completion, readiness checks and handover from construction into commissioning. β€’ Ensure accurate reporting of progress, issues, risks and completed activities. β€’ Maintain a strong focus on HSE, permit compliance and safe systems of work at all times.

Requirements β€’ Previous experience as a Commissioning Engineer on energy, power generation, substation, HV, grid or industrial projects. β€’ Strong understanding of commissioning processes, test documentation and system handover. β€’ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and commissioning procedures. β€’ Experience working on live construction or energisation environments. β€’ Strong knowledge of HSE procedures, permits and site safety requirements. β€’ Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple project teams. β€’ Right to work in the UK.
