Commissioning Engineer

HV Commissioning Engineer - 220kV & 110kV Substation Projects - County Cork, Ireland - €Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Contract + Likely Extensions - November Start - Monday to Friday (10 Hour Days)

We're currently searching for 2 x HV Substation Commissioning Engineers for a 220kV substation project & a 110kVsubstation project in County Cork, Ireland.

The engineers will support commissioning activities across 2 x 220kV / 110kV substation projects, with an initial 12-month contract and potential extensions.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and execute commissioning activities across 220kV and 110kV substation projects.
• Carry out pre-commissioning inspections, testing and system readiness checks prior to energisation.
• Commission HV primary plant including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs and associated substation equipment.
• Support protection, control, interlocking and SCADA testing where required.
• Complete functional testing, point-to-point checks and system integration testing.
• Review commissioning procedures, test documentation, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Identify and resolve commissioning defects and technical issues during testing and energisation.
• Coordinate closely with construction, engineering, operations and project management teams.
• Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with client, project and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test sheets and handover documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience commissioning transmission-level HV substations.
• Previous experience working on 110kV, 220kV or comparable transmission voltage levels.
• Strong knowledge of HV substation primary and secondary systems.
• Experience working with AIS and/or GIS substations.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, protection diagrams and commissioning documentation.
• Strong understanding of commissioning, energisation and safe systems of work.
• Valid right to work in Ireland.
• Ability to work on-site in County Cork Monday to Friday.
