An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a market-leading Commercial & Regulatory team with a recognised specialism in the travel sector.
The team advises a broad range of travel businesses, including international travel brands, tour operators, online travel agents, booking platforms, technology providers and businesses launching innovative travel products. The practice is particularly well known for its expertise in travel regulation, advising clients on complex compliance issues, consumer protection requirements and commercial matters across the UK and Europe.
The role will involve advising clients on a range of travel-specific regulatory issues, including:
- Guiding travel businesses through complex regulatory requirements affecting the sale and delivery of travel products across domestic and international markets.
- Advising on industry-specific frameworks, including ATOL licensing arrangements, package travel legislation, linked travel arrangements and airline distribution requirements.
- Supporting clients with the legal and regulatory considerations associated with launching new products, entering new territories and developing innovative business models.
- Providing practical compliance advice to tour operators, travel platforms, intermediaries and other businesses operating within the travel ecosystem.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including technology, supply, distribution and services contracts.
- Advising on consumer protection, digital commerce and customer-facing regulatory obligations.
- Assisting clients with data privacy and information governance matters, including international transfers of personal data and cross-border compliance considerations.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and helping clients adapt to changes in the legal landscape affecting the travel and leisure sector.
About You
Travel sector experience is not required. The team is keen to hear from candidates with strong commercial and regulatory experience. Consumer regulation / protection experience would be highly beneficial.
The successful candidate with have between 3 to 6 years PQE experience.
