Commercial Manager Location: Hybrid Working (Midlands-based with travel to operational sites as required) Salary: ยฃ65k + car allowance and bonus About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading organisation specialising in high value logistics and manufacturing. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with operational and business development teams to drive growth, manage risk, and maximise contract performance. You will play a key role throughout the entire contract lifecycle, from supporting new business opportunities and bid activity through to contract negotiation, delivery support, and contract close-out.

The successful candidate will provide pragmatic commercial guidance, develop robust contractual arrangements, and help ensure profitable and sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities Provide commercial leadership and support throughout the sales, bid, contract delivery, and renewal processes. Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of customer contracts and commercial agreements.

Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and operational risks across customer and supplier contracts. Support business development teams with new business opportunities, tenders, and customer negotiations. Partner with operational and account management teams to maximise contract profitability and performance.

Build strong relationships with customers and develop a deep understanding of their commercial objectives. Conduct ongoing reviews of contractual arrangements to ensure they accurately reflect business activity and deliver maximum commercial benefit. Work closely with legal colleagues to ensure contracts are robust, enforceable, and aligned with business objectives.

Support the resolution of customer disputes, claims, and contractual issues. Collaborate with procurement teams on supplier negotiations and contract flow-down requirements. Contribute to wider business initiatives including risk management, compliance, sustainability, and governance projects.

Promote best practice in commercial management, negotiation, and customer engagement across the organisation. About You You will be a commercially astute professional with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, capable of operating effectively within a complex and dynamic business environment. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience delivering commercial support within a complex business environment, ideally within logistics, supply chain, transport, manufacturing, or related sectors.

Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating high-value customer and supplier contracts. Sound understanding of commercial and operational risk management. Good knowledge of contract law and common commercial contract terms.

Experience supporting bids, tenders, and business development activities. Strong financial awareness with an understanding of contract profitability and commercial performance drivers. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and influencing skills.

Ability to develop practical and commercially balanced solutions to complex issues.
