CNC Programming Manager
Location: Ireland
Salary: โฌ60,000 โ โฌ70,000 per year, DOE
Job Type: Permanent
Team: 5 CNC Programmers
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programming Manager to lead a team of five CNC Programmers within a precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will combine strong technical CNC programming skills with excellent leadership and organisational abilities. They will oversee programming activities, provide technical support and ensure efficient, high-quality programmes for 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machining.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support a team of 5 CNC Programmers.
- Plan and coordinate programming activities and priorities.
- Develop and optimise programmes for 3- and 5-axis machining.
- Programme using HyperMILL, Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Optimise cycle times, tooling and machining strategies.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the programming team.
- Monitor workload, deadlines and programming capacity.
- Support new components, machinery and machining processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in programming methods and efficiency.
- Maintain programming standards, documentation and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
- Experience with HyperMILL, Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling and cutting strategies.
- Experience in precision engineering or high-quality manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
- Previous team management, supervision or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit an experienced CNC Programmer or Senior CNC Programmer ready to progress into management, or an existing CNC Programming Manager / Team Leader seeking a new challenge. The ideal candidate will be technically strong in 3- and 5-axis programming and have the leadership skills to manage and develop a team of five programmers.
