The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Architect - Azure to join our team. The Cloud Architect is responsible to design, implement, and manage a secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solution on the Microsoft Azure platform. This person will bridge business needs with technical infrastructure to drive effective cloud adoption and digital transformation, specifically focusing on cloud migration, AI adoption, and modernizing legacy systems.

This position is 100% on-site and no hybrid or remote is available at this time.

The Cloud Architect - Azure will also be responsible for:

  • Design and manage enterprise cloud architectures across networking, identity, compute, and storage
  • Monitor and optimize Azure environments for performance, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and cost efficiency
  • Lead on-premises to Azure migration strategies (re-host, re-platform, re-architect)
  • Work with the internal Security Team to support governance, tagging standards, and policy compliance measures (Azure Policy, Blueprints, Defender, Purview)
  • Manage and plan post cloud migration roadmaps and guide to execute designed solutions as needed to solve post migration problems with legacy on prem applications
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developers, administrators, and DevOps engineers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Advise executives and technical leads on cloud adoption strategies, feasibility, and risk mitigation
  • Ensure Azure solutions achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory and security standards (FAR, DFARS, ITAR, CMMC)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years specifically focusing on Azure cloud architecture and design
  • Deep understanding of Azure infrastructure components (Virtual Machines, Networking, ExpressRoute, VPN, Storage, Open AI)
  • Proficiency in PaaS services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, App Service, AKS)
  • Strong knowledge of Identity & Access Management (Azure AD, IAM, RBAC)
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), problem-solving, negotiation, time management, team building, and adaptability
  • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) is required. (Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104 is a prerequisite)
  • U. S. Citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
