We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist โ Oncology for our hospital in Dublin,Ireland.
Responsibilities
\nProvide expert direct nursing care to oncology patients through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
\nDeliver nurse-led assessments and contribute to advanced clinical decision-making, including treatment suitability and symptom management.
\nManage complex oncology-related symptoms such as pain, nausea, mucositis, fatigue, and psychosocial distress.
\nCollaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality cancer care.
\nAct as a patient and family advocate, ensuring patient values are represented and appropriate referrals are made to allied health and community services.
\nProvide tailored patient and family education on chemotherapy, symptom management, and available support services.
\nDemonstrate clinical leadership by advising, mentoring, and supporting nursing staff, students, and junior clinicians.
\nDevelop, implement, and review oncology nursing guidelines, policies, and chemotherapy safety standards in line with national guidelines.
\nParticipate in audit, research, and quality improvement activities to promote evidence-based oncology practice.
\nAct as a specialist consultant, contributing to service development, professional networking, and the advancement of oncology nursing practice.
Requirements\nRegistered nurse with name maintained on the Live Register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of five yearsโ post-registration experience.
At least three yearsโ post-registration experience in Oncology nursing.
Demonstrated evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
Educated to Level 9 (Higher Diploma) in Oncology.
Completion of a recognised Oncology nursing course.
Bachelor of Nursing degree (desirable).
Completion of a Front Line Management / Leadership course (desirable).
Computer and IT skills relevant to clinical practice (desirable).
