Description:

The CNM will report to the Director of Nursing and will be working closely with residents, senior management and other stakeholders to effectively manage the assigned department and ensure a high standard of care.

The role requires someone with management experience in care planning and delivery in a nursing home/care environment, excellent interpersonal skills, highly organized, strong communicator, and taking an active role in promoting 'person-centred best practice' in the care of older adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care
• Managing, supervising, supporting, training and leading the care team within the assigned department
• Planning and allocation of nursing teams with appropriate staff members, skill mix and levels of experience to meet the clinical demands and the continuity of care
• Lead by example and demonstrate a strong 'team ethos' being positive and motivational at all times
• Management of medication in compliance with An Bord Altranais regulations, nursing home regulations and the HIQA standards
• Management of KPls for the assigned department
• Providing Palliative Care to residents.
• Encouraging, training and guiding team while maintaining a happy environment
• Providing guidance and advice to all junior nursing and caring staff

Requirements:

• A recognised General Nursing qualification
• NMBI Registered
• A minimum of three years of experience in care planning and delivery in an elderly care environment
• Continuous Professional Development
• Proven track record in team management and performance management
• Strong sense of initiative and a can-do attitude
• Ability to prioritize work and work to deadlines
• Committed to promoting and maintaining high work standards.
