Job Description

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to professional and administrative staff within a Community Service Centre
  • Manage all aspects of Community Service Centre operations, including human resources, finance, office administration, performance monitoring and reporting
  • Deliver DCJ core functions and services to vulnerable children, young people and families
  • Establish collaborative relationships with community partners and NGOs to integrate local service provision
  • Lead implementation of operational changes aligned with DCJ’s corporate and strategic direction
  • Develop strategies and make decisions in emotionally charged, difficult and controversial situations
  • Build and monitor a fair, inclusive and diverse workplace culture
  • Develop unit plans addressing team capability, strengths, development opportunities and continuous improvement
  • Address and resolve team and individual performance issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Work closely with Aboriginal communities and lead a significant Aboriginal workforce
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in social work, social/Behavioural Science, Welfare or a related discipline, and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Strong cultural capability and commitment to culturally safe practice
  • Ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal people, communities and stakeholders
  • Applicants should currently reside within the district or relocate before commencing employment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel to local offices including Broken Hill, Dareton and Wilcannia, and across the broader South West NSW region
  • Subject to reference checks
  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
