Classified Substitute (Multiple Positions)
District: Rossford Schools Position Type: Classified Substitute (On-Call/As Needed) Reports To: Building Administrator / Department Supervisor Pay: Hourly varies by position (see rates below)

We are currently accepting applications for Classified Substitutes to support our schools as needs arise. Once approved, substitutes can search for and accept available shifts through an app, making it easy to choose opportunities that fit your schedule.

Available Substitute Positions
Approved classified substitutes may view and accept jobs for the following roles:
- Cleaner
- Custodian
- Paraprofessional (Special Needs Aide)
- Library Aide
- Clinic Aide
- Secretary
- Lunch/Recess Aide
- Cook
- Kitchen Staff
- Bus Driver*

Substitute Pay Rates (Effective August 13, 2024)
Hourly rate varies by assignment:
- Secretary: $14.50/hr
- Cleaner: $14.50/hr
- Food Service: $12.00/hr
- Library/Clinic Aide: $12.00/hr
- Playground/Cafeteria Aide: $12.00/hr
- Paraprofessional/Special Needs Aide: $15.00/hr
- Bus Driver: $21.00/hr
- Field Trips: $14.00/hr
- Mechanic: $17.00/hr
- Driver/Courier: $12.50/hr
- Seasonal: $12.50/hr
Substitute Bus Driver Requirements (Required for anyone interested)
- Valid driver's license for at least five (5) years
- Clean abstract
- Criminal check and drug test
- Completion of satisfactory pre-employment driver's training program
- Completion of basic and advanced bus driver's education program
- Bus driver's certificate
- Valid CDL
- High school graduate or equivalent

- Able to follow directions and support building operations and student needs
- Comfortable working in a school environment with students and staff
Reimbursement Opportunity (Classified Substitutes)
To further support substitutes, those who complete five (5) days of work during the school year are eligible for reimbursement of:
- BCI/FBI Background Check: Up to $80
- Educational Aide Permit or Student Monitor Permit: $25
How to Apply
Apply to be a Classified Substitute with Rossford Schools. Once approved, you will be able to view and accept open substitute shifts through an app.
In accordance with State law, the Rossford Board of Education requires a criminal background check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records for each applicant the Superintendent recommends for employment.
