Join Medavie and help deliver quality service to our members by supporting the processing of health and dental insurance claims.
Responsibilities
- Analyze health and dental insurance claims to determine the eligibility of submitted expenses.
- Apply established coverage provisions, policies, and procedures to approve or deny claims.
- Obtain the information required to process claims by communicating with members by phone or in writing.
- Enter, update, and validate data within the claims processing system.
- Interact with various computer systems to assess member eligibility and coverage details.
- Conduct the necessary research and verification activities to support claim assessment.
- Create and maintain records for self-billed members.
- Perform manual calculations when claims cannot be processed automatically by the system.
- Provide professional, courteous, and efficient customer service.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and spoken French.
- Good written English skills.
- Knowledge of health and dental insurance is considered an asset.
- LOMA 1 and 2 courses completed in accordance with company policy are considered an asset.
