Type of position Regular Overview As a civil/structural project engineer, you will be a key part of our civil, structural, and geotechnical department in Vancouver, BC. Your role will involve both technical execution and leadership of projects, leading from concept to execution and contributing to business development. Responsibilities Lead the delivery of engineering mandates for civil and multi‑disciplinary projects, ensuring high‑quality technical solutions and project delivery.

Act as the proposal lead, preparing technical proposals, defining project scope, and engaging with clients to secure new work. Participate actively in business development, working closely with leadership to identify and pursue strategic opportunities. Develop, review, and approve engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, reports, estimates, budgets, schedules, specifications, proposals, and presentations.

Take a hands‑on approach to project execution, balancing leadership with technical contributions. Mentor and support junior engineers and project leaders, fostering their technical and leadership growth. Supervise and commission engineering solutions, including site inspections and contractor coordination.

Engage in risk management and project performance tracking, communicating results to clients regularly. Quality, Values, and Cultural Fit Strong commitment to safety and quality. Client‑focused with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with clients and internal teams. Qualifications & Certifications Knowledge and application of engineering principles related to storm and sanitary sewer design, hydraulics, hydrology and water management, road design, pipeline engineering, and design of hydraulic structures. Knowledge of HECRAS, PCSWMM, Civil 3D, or other hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus). Registered as a P.Eng or eligible to register. 8+ years of experience in heavy industrial, mining, or renewable energy projects, with a focus on industrial civil infrastructure. Proven ability to lead projects and act as a proposal lead in client engagements.

Willingness to travel (10% to 30% of the time annually). Proficiency in reading technical drawings, site supervision, and safety standards. Strong technical writing skills for reports and proposals.
