Job Description
Opportunity Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineering Technologist to its Materials and Construction Services team based in Edmonton, AB. This is a temporary hourly contract position expected to continue through November or December, depending on weather conditions. Responsibilities Working on transportation infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects in both field and laboratory environments.
Performing field testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including plastic concrete testing and making samples for testing in the laboratory, and density testing using nuclear density gauges. Assisting in providing quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field-testing related projects. Assisting in preparation of field-testing reports.
Other duties required to conduct our business and build on the job knowledge. Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursuing continuous professional development and maintaining a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Working in a safe manner at all times and reporting all health and safety incidents and concerns. Additional duties as required. Qualifications Civil engineering technology diploma is preferred.
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and provide current driver's abstract when applying. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to properly document sampling and testing information in an accurate and timely manner. Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
Good time management skills, ability to work with minimal supervision and contribute to the practice by being a team player. Must be willing to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters. CSA approved Steel Toed Safety Boots required.
Must be physically capable of performing the manual labour duties required. Benefits Overtime calculated at 1.5 times. We have embraced a hybrid culture.
