Overview

In this role you support the delivery of clean water and wastewater projects within a national, multidisciplinary team. You contribute to the early design stages, assist with feasibility, and help manage projects from feasibility to completion, with an emphasis on quality, safety, and meeting schedules. You work closely with cross-functional teams and benefit from mentoring and structured development paths.

This position offers a clear path to chartership and leadership skills within a growing water engineering practice.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in outlining and detailing designs, drawings, reports, and calculations under supervision
  • Evaluate options to deliver wastewater and/or clean water infrastructure and related schemes across multiple UK regions
  • Support project management from feasibility through to delivery, including budget awareness
  • Execute discrete tasks within deadlines and collaborate in meetings with senior staff
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys; supervise technicians and CAD technicians as needed
  • Help ensure projects meet quality, scope, time, and budget requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures
Key requirements
  • BEng in Civil Engineering; focus or interest in water engineering (preferred)
  • Ambition to achieve IEng or CEng
  • Some work experience with consultant or contractor (desirable)
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, hydraulic analysis, and water/wastewater treatment (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation (CDM) and CAD
  • Strong written communication for annotations, reports, and letters
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
