The Opportunity Build the future with us. Your impact starts here. As a Civil Engineer, Land Development or Municipal Engineering, based in Edmonton , you'll help shape sustainable communities, resilient municipal infrastructure, and forward‑thinking land development across Alberta.
Embedded within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you'll contribute to projects that strengthen cities, support growth, and improve quality of life across the region. Your Impact Design and deliver land development and municipal servicing projects from concept through construction and acceptance, including subdivisions, site plans, grading, stormwater management, sanitary/water systems, and roadway design. Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and technical documentation that align with municipal, provincial, and regulatory standards.
Apply expertise in hydrology, stormwater management, grading and drainage, water distribution, sanitary collection, and utility coordination. Collaborate with engineers, technologists, environmental specialists, and subconsultants to provide integrated project solutions. Support construction services including field reviews, RFIs, progress certifications, and technical resolution during implementation.
Contribute to project financial planning including budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration. Strengthen client relationships with developers, municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies through clear communication and reliable technical guidance. Integrate sustainable, resilient design practices‑including LID and green infrastructure approaches‑into engineering solutions.
Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring constructability, cost‑effectiveness, and regulatory compliance across all deliverables. The Skills That Set You Apart A degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (or eligibility). 4+ years of experience in land development or municipal engineering design. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with ProjectWise, BIM360, Procore, or SharePoint is considered an asset.
Solid understanding of Alberta's municipal processes, design standards, and approvals frameworks. Creative problem solver who approaches challenges with curiosity, collaboration, and adaptability. Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 - $102,500 MB & ON: $70,600 - $97,200 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $65,800 - $88,600 Health and Safety Health and Safety is a core paramount value of WSP.
