Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Deliver civil design solutions – undertake civil engineering design and analysis across roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities and other non-process infrastructure projects, supporting project delivery from concept through to detailed design.
  • Prepare technical documentation – contribute to engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and project documentation, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate across disciplines – work closely with engineers, designers and drafters from multiple disciplines to resolve interfaces, identify constraints and develop practical solutions for complex projects.
  • Support project delivery – provide technical input to a broad range of projects, including mining infrastructure, water projects, transport infrastructure and defence‑related works, contributing to successful project outcomes.
  • Engage with stakeholders – collaborate with internal teams, clients and external authorities to understand project requirements, discuss design solutions and support informed decision‑making.
  • Build your expertise – develop your technical and consulting skills through exposure to a wide variety of projects, supported by experienced leaders and a strong culture of mentoring and professional growth.

What you’ll bring

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience delivering civil infrastructure design projects within a consulting or design environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities and general civil infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of relevant client and industry standards, including those used by Main Roads WA, Public Transport Authority, energy and resources sector clients, local government authorities and service authorities.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to project delivery outcomes.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work.
  • Experience using civil engineering design software such as 12D, Drains and AutoCAD (desirable).
  • Australian citizenship or the ability to obtain relevant security clearances is advantageous due to the nature of some projects.
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia (desirable but not essential).
