Job Description
Overview In response to increasing project demands and development of our business, we are seeking a Civil Engineer to join AtkinsRéalis to support our team in Alberta. This position will be based out of our office in Calgary. Responsibilities Geometric design for a variety of road and highway infrastructure projects.
Prepare preliminary and detailed design packages for multidisciplinary projects including plans, profiles, typical cross‑sections, grading and drainage, property acquisitions, geometrics and laning, spot elevations, signing and pavement markings, detours and construction staging. Prepare 3D digital models of the proposed design. Develop cost estimates based on quantity take‑offs and unit prices.
Review work and complete quality control procedures. Lead or support proposals and fee estimates. Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians to ensure technical adequacy of all work.
Contribute to or prepare project documentation including design briefs, design criteria, engineering reports, drawings and specifications to summarize the approach taken and project‑relevant results, as well as present materials to clients. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.
Eng) with APEGA. 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience in road and highway design. Experience with CAD/Civil 3D is required. Experience with the preparation of design reports and technical notes.
Working knowledge of TAC Geometric Design Guidelines and AASHTO design standards. Willingness and ability to travel on short‑term assignments within Canada. #J-18808-Ljbffr
