Job description: A.E. Hodsdon Consulting Engineers (AEH) is a medium engineering firm located in the downtown Waterville, Maine. The firm services a broad spectrum of municipal and private clients located throughout the states of Maine and New Hampshire.
The company was started in 1974 and incorporated in 1976 by Albert E. Hodsdon III. The firmโs success story lies with the development of the company in providing more than routine engineering services.
The firm has been particularly successful in providing services such as strategic utility planning, municipal planning, creative and cost effective design, and sound financial planning. As a civil engineering firm, we have developed definite philosophies on the design of public facilities. Job Summary We are seeking a Civil Engineer licensed in the State of Maine with a minimum experience of 7+ years to join our team. The candidate will oversee and manage the design of a diverse range of civil engineering site projects in a team-oriented environment.
In working with other senior management, the engineer will play a vital role in the development of the future growth of the firm. Responsibilities Perform professional engineering oversight in the research, planning, design, and construction overview of municipal water and sewer capital improvement, maintenance and construction projects throughout the state. Work with private developers in the design of site plans, grading plans, details, erosion controls, road plans, profiles and cross-sections, utility and storm drainage plans and profiles, specification preparation, and bid document preparation.
Prepare and submit local and state land development site permits including performing storm water management calculations along with erosion and sedimentation control designs for DEP/Army Corp/SLODA/NRPA permitting. Represent the firm at site plan review meetings, planning board, direct design meetings with the client, state staff review meetings, and professional society events. Coordinate and guide the work of professional and technical staff.
Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Maine Professional Engineering License (PE). Registration in multiple states a plus Successful candidates must have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment with the capability to delegate and supervise tasks to support staff Strong writing skills to support technical reporting and proposals as well as strong oral communication skills are required Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct Preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and administration of water/wastewater infrastructure projects Excellent time management and organization skills, including the demonstrated ability to prepare quality work products for multiple projects on time and within budget with critical path problem solving The successful candidate must be able to follow proper procedures and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, sub-consultants, contractors, etc. A valid Maine driver license and the ability to travel to job sites as required Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
