Children's Safeguarding Social Worker

North Somerset Council | Weston-super-Mare
Up to 45 per hour | 37 hours per week
Caritas Recruitment is supporting North Somerset Council with the recruitment of experienced Children's Safeguarding Social Workers to join their frontline safeguarding service.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified and experienced practitioners looking to work within a supportive local authority, managing safeguarding work that makes a genuine difference to children and families.


Key Details

  • Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
  • Pay Rate: Up to 45 per hour
  • Additional Incentive: Up to 100 per week travel contribution for candidates travelling into the area for work
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Hybrid Working: Minimum 2 days per week in the office
  • Visits: All statutory visits must be completed face-to-face
  • Supportive management structure
  • Stable service with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for children


About the Role

You will be working within a Children's Safeguarding Team undertaking a varied caseload, including:
  • Child in Need work
  • Child Protection planning and intervention
  • Care Proceedings and Court Work
  • Assessments and direct work with children and families
  • Multi-agency partnership working to ensure children are safeguarded effectively


About You

To be considered, you will need:
  • Social Work England registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Experience within Children's Social Care
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection experience
  • Experience managing complex caseloads
  • Confidence completing assessments, reports, and court work
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families
This position would suit an experienced Children's Social Worker with a strong background in safeguarding, child protection, and statutory frontline work.
