About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Finance and Administration Officer (CFAO) to provide strategic and operational leadership in the areas of financial, administrative, and operational functions. The CFAO will be a key member of the Senior Executive Team, partnering with the President, CEO, and the Board of Directors to ensure the organization's financial health, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. This senior executive role encompasses financial stewardship, operational leadership, and administrative oversight, including finance, accounting, IT, facilities, and enterprise risk management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, as well as for developing and managing the annual budget, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and serving as the primary liaison with external auditors. Applicants for the CFAO position at the company should have a minimum of 10-15 years' of progressive leadership experience in finance, operations, and administration, preferably within the nonprofit sector. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with an advanced degree being preferred.
The role demands a CPA or equivalent professional certification, experience in legal and regulatory matters, and a strong understanding of nonprofit governance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing operations and IT functions, managing complex organizations, and leading through growth or transformation. Core competencies include strategic thinking, financial acumen, operational excellence, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The CFAO will also be expected to have strong communication skills, and the ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
