Chief Engineer

Job Overview The Chief Engineer will oversee the efficient, safe, and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment at a building in Tysons Corner, VA. This role demands technical expertise in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, and requires multi‑skilled proficiency to repair, maintain, restore, and replace various building operational components independently. The position requires on‑site presence. Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems Perform various preventive maintenance tasks as needed and provide hands‑on support Create and routinely update a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures Participate regularly in client‑facing and property team communications Provide effective, accurate, and timely communication of issues affecting the building with management and the Client Lead, create, and manage the engineering budget and participate in the overall operating budget process Assist in the development of a capital improvement plan Select, schedule, supervise, and direct contractors Lead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and procedures Conduct regular rounding, adhering to regulatory compliance Manage CMMS and BAS systems Conduct risk assessment and mitigation Perform other duties as requested by the management team and/or client Required Qualifications VA Masters Mechanical License LEED GA 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar role People management experience (leading a team) Universal CFC EPA certification Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive Strong customer service and communication skills Lead and demonstrate a safety‑first culture Location On‑site - McLean, VA Visa Sponsorship This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
