The CDO will be responsible for strategic leadership and planning, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising plan. This plan will encompass major gifts, foundation relations, planned giving, annual appeals, and special events. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide strategy and financial planning, and will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to ensure that the development strategy aligns with the company's mission and strategic priorities. Essential responsibilities for the CDO include promoting cross-departmental collaboration, engaging in major gift solicitation, and overseeing all institutional fundraising efforts. The role also involves providing strategic direction for fundraising events, managing the development budget, and ensuring the integrity of all donor records and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in meeting and exceeding fundraising goals, at least 10 years' of experience in development and fundraising, and a deep expertise in various fundraising areas. They must be mission-driven, with a passion for the company's work, and possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's degree or CFRE certification, and experience with donor management software and data analytics is essential.
