Job Description โ Process Engineer Industry: Agrochemical / Specialty Chemical Manufacturing Job Summary We are looking for a Process Engineer with strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, troubleshooting, scale-up, and plant optimization to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Key Responsibilities Process Operations: Monitor batch manufacturing operations; ensure smooth execution of reactions, distillation, crystallization, filtration and drying; review batch records and process parameters for SOP compliance. Process Optimization: Analyze yield, cycle time, raw material and utility consumption; identify improvement opportunities; support continuous improvement initiatives.
Scale-Up & Technology Transfer: Support scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale; participate in technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing; review SOP, BMR, PFD, BPR and related documents. Troubleshooting: Investigate low yield, off-spec material, filtration, crystallization, distillation, vacuum and drying issues; identify root causes and corrective actions. Process Safety: Ensure safe handling of hazardous chemicals; participate in HAZOP and risk assessments; ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
Engineering & Technical Activities: Perform material and heat balance calculations; support optimization of reactors, condensers, heat exchangers, vacuum systems and other equipment. Documentation & Coordination: Prepare technical reports, process summaries and MIS; coordinate with Production, QA, EHS, Maintenance, Planning and R&D teams; support audits and regulatory documentation. Qualification & Experience B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering. 2โ6 years of experience in agrochemical, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience in batch process manufacturing. Required Skills Knowledge of distillation, crystallization, filtration, drying, heat transfer and vacuum systems. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Understanding of process safety and hazardous chemical handling. Good understanding of PFD and P&ID. Proficiency in MS Excel and process calculations.
Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Candidate Profile Practical problem-solving approach. Strong understanding of process behavior at commercial scale.
Safety-conscious and responsible. Ability to work under production pressure. Willing to work closely with shop-floor teams.
