Job Description
Overview Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center provide patient‑centered anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures. Responsibilities Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgeries and diagnostic procedures. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care across adult, pediatric, cardiac, vascular, neurosurgical, and orthopedic specialties.
Provide one‑on‑one anesthesia instruction for students in Columbia University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program. Select rotations among Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, and Allen Hospital to work with both adult and pediatric patients. Preferred Criteria At least 1 year of experience as a CRNA.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP or DNAP). Required Criteria Certification of Nurse Anesthetist. Master of Science in Nursing.
Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain). BCLS Certification. ACLS Certification.
Compensation Salary Range: $270,000–$335,000 per year. Competitive base pay with recognition for experience, education, and licensure. Work Environment All roles require on‑site presence; employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
